I'm a (cat) Mum!

We are big animal lovers, and after moving out we missed my stepdads cats so much we decided to get our own!

It was actually quite the little process! Turns out you can't just go into any old pet shop and take one home. It's all done through cat rescue organizations who provide the cats to the pet shops. The organization we worked with is Team Cat Rescue. There are forms to fill out and the whole shebang.

So last week we went to a Petsmart and fell in love! There was a lot of back and forth about which cats we were getting, and which ones we were even able to get, but in the end we got the babies that were made for us.

Dandelion is the boy. He is 10 months old and super affectionate and snuggly! Which is great because we have a ton of love to give him! He likes to walk on our faces and sleep on the pillows above our heads. He doesn't always like to share his toys with his little sister.

Me and Reese

Reese is the girl. She is only 9 weeks old and a little trouble maker! She is so small and adorable. She likes cuddles as well but she also likes running around in the middle of the night, and chewing on wires. I'm hoping she grows out of this. She also enjoys attacking her big brother (but not when he attacks back).

We are absolutely obsessed with the cats, they're so new and fun and fascinating. I already took about 100 photos of them and it's only day 3. Yet it's like they've been here all along.

Funny thing is that Mike and I are both allergic to cats. Not to worry though, allergy pills to the rescue! I also ordered a HEPA filter air purifier that should come next week. I'll write about how that works out.

And for those wondering, yes, Reese is named after the peanut butter cup, it's our favourite.
