Affirmation Monday #13

"It always seems impossible until it's done."

-Nelson Mandela

I like this affirmation because you can apply it to so many things, birth included. It's easy for us to get swept up in thoughts of worry and anxiety, pain and fear.
But once you cross that finish line, you've done it!

Leading up to birth for so many women, even before they're pregnant, they can be overcome with thoughts like "how on Earth is a BABY going to fit through THERE?!".

Even in labour, when you're nearing the end, it's very common to just want to quit right then and there. "I can't do it anymore, it's impossible, it's not going to happen, I'm done."

Good news is though, when you get to the point where you say that in labour, after you've been through so much and you feel like you've had it, you're in transition and your baby is about to be born.

After the whole process is over with you realize that all of those doubts and uncertainties you had, was just your fear talking. Of course it seemed impossible, that's how your body tries to protect itself.

But then you realize, you did it. You did the impossible.

Though it wasn't really impossible at all now was it?
