Love Is Love - Happy Pride 2018!
Hello everyone and happy Pride!!
After taking Yoga today, I spur of the moment decided to go and meet my best friend and her partner downtown at the Gay Pride Parade!
I have lived in Toronto my entire life, and can you believe it took me 25 years to finally go to one?! And it was raining nonetheless. Did that stop anyone though? You bet your ass it didn't!
I believe it was only supposed to be an hour, but as we all know, these types of things never stick to a schedule. I stayed for about two hours before I had to leave and it wasn't even close to being over!
The energy there though. Wow! Despite the rain, lots of people in the parade had super soakers and didn't think twice about using them. Yet I don't think that many people even minded.
We were all just happy to be there, celebrating love.
Whatever that may look like.
I wanted to take this opportunity to say publicly, that as a human being AND as a doula, I do not discriminate.
I am happy to work with any client no matter what you look like, who you love, or how you identify. All you need to bring a child into this world is love and support. That's all that matters.
Like the amazing Lin-Manuel Miranda articulated in his 2016 Tony Awards speech (which made me cry), "Love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside."
